Batch ‘Em! Comp Settings

If you ever wanted to change some composition settings for MULTIPLE comps at the same time in After Effects… I’ve built Batch ‘Em just for that!

A month ago I was working on a project that involved a lot of that repetitive clicking and I thought to myself… THERE’S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY! so I took matters into my own hands and one thing led to another.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Batch Em! is an After Effects script that allows you to batch update multiple compositions simultaneously.

Instead of opening every precomp individually, Batch Em! lets you make changes for the duration, frame rate, or composition dimensions across many compositions from a single panel!

STILL A MOTION DESIGNER, AFTER ALL.

Naturally, I wanted to create an animation to introduce the script. Rather than focusing on features, I wanted to communicate the feeling behind the problem and how Batch Em! helps make it a little less painful.

The film explores the absurdity of a seemingly simple request that spirals into a repetitive cycle of opening, updating, and working through countless precomps one by one. I leaned into humor and exaggeration to tell a story that many animators know all too well. The result is a short film that feels relatable not just to motion designers, but to anyone who has worked in a client-creative relationships.
